Biography

Lighting designer Andre Christopher Allen is a native of Queens, New York. He has served as production manager with Atlanta's Rialto Center and operations manager with the Georgia Institute of Technology's Ferst Center.

Allen has designed for many artists and organizations including productions for Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company, the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, and India.Arie. He founded BlackLight Productions, a theatrical lighting design firm, in 1990.

In 1993, BlackLight Productions evolved into a full-scale production services company, providing logistics management as well as technical support. In 2013, BlackLight opened a second location in Times Square with a primary focus on producing live stage experiences.
