Biography
Danielle Davis’s dissertation research interprets the cultural productions of the Alt-Hip-hop band N.E.R.D., the production duo the Neptunes, and Pharrell Williams’ solo career as Afro-Filipino futures within 21st century American soundscape. She is a violist, specializing in performance of Middle Eastern traditional musics. Davis is passionate about educating and preparing future generations of Black music professionals to develop their innate talents within and beyond music studies. Her experiences include writing about, teaching and presenting popular music, music history pedagogy, and Black American music history, and web 2.0 based instruction.Courses Taught
