Biography
Erdi Kara, Ph.D., studies numerical partial differential equations applied to problems arising in fluid dynamics and mathematical oncology. In addition, he has a deep passion for machine learning applications in biomedical sciences.
Dr. Kara truly enjoys working with undergraduate students. He is looking for motivated students who would like to participate in research projects mainly in two fields. In the first option, he will work with those who are excited to learn and explore machine learning with modern practices. This is a great opportunity to discover industry standard Python-based machine learning tools such as Skilearn and Pytorch along with data analytics libraries such as Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib, etc. In the second option, those who are interested in numerical analysis and its applications can participate in research to enhance their research skills in scientific computing as well as develop new coding skills in Matlab or Maple.
