Biography

Jessica Coates, Ph.D. is a 2013 graduate of the Spelman College biology department. She completed her Ph.D. at Emory University under the guidance of Drs. Katia Koelle and Paul Rota where her work focused on utilizing statistical approaches for understanding within and between host dynamics of infectious agent replication under preventative and protective public health strategies. Following graduate school, she completed a Visiting Scholar position on the Responsible and Inclusive Technology team at IBM and Health Equity Navigator position at Mercer University. In her spare time, she is an avid traveler, reader, and dog mom!
